Essential Oils Around the Home

Do you know how to use essential oils to clean your home?

Have you become concerned that the use of environmental chemicals in and around your home may be toxic to your family’s health? Do you worry that the chemical-based cleaning products deemed safe by the FDA are actually to blame for the recent drastic rise in cancer rates, not to mention the increase in diagnoses of “new age” illnesses and chronic conditions such as thyroid disease, endocrine and hormone disruption, fibromyalgia, lupus, and chronic fatigue, as well as allergies and asthma in children?

Natural cleaning products needn’t be expensive or hard to come by. In fact, if you’d like to lessen the amount of toxic chemicals that your family comes into contact with, then you can start with an age-old method that still works today: essential oils for cleaning, disinfecting and purifying the air and surfaces of your home.

Essential Oils to the Rescue

Essential oils are oils that are derived from plants. Some of the most popular ones include lavender, tea tree and lemon. These oils can be used to create cleaning solutions that work to clean and sanitize your entire home while eliminating the use of toxic cleaning chemicals. Not only are they easy to make, but a few drops of essential oils goes a long way, which means they’re economical as well.

DIY Homemade Cleaning Products

Before we jump into creating homemade cleaning products, it is important to note that not all essential oils are made the same. Before you purchase any oils, make sure they are 100{fa32f3da1db87532d93af57bebf07259016720c780c92cd8735931dd04d79e41} pure essential oils. You do not want to purchase a fragrance grade oil just to save a few bucks. These are not pure and oftentimes contain some of the chemicals you are trying to avoid.
