Everyone poops and yet no one talks about it. At an early age we are trained to wipe our own backside and pooping really is not talked about afterward. We never learn how often we should poop, what a healthy poop is, or what to eat so that we have good poops. Continually we have this private experience, which trained to keep to ourselves, remains shrouded in mystery, especially if you’re having problems with it.
So perhaps we should take the “everybody poops concept” a bit further. Everyone has been constipated, everyone has had diarrhea, and everyone has hurt their butt while pooping. There I said it – IT’S OUT! And while most of us do take pooping for granted, we do all care about having a good pooping experience.
How Often We Should Poop
I poop once a day in the mornings, either right after I get up or after I eat breakfast if I am not eating hemp hearts. I’ve had some friends tell me they poop, the same or every other day. One even told me that she pooped once a week.
The ideal pooping schedule is for your body to get rid of its waste about 30 minutes after eating; the ole “one train in, one train out” saying.
So for most people if they were on track, they’d be pooping 3 times a day. When I eat hemp hearts in the morning, I poop 2-3 times a day, depending on how much I eat and I always poop 20-30 minutes after breakfast.
If you look at cultures that don’t eat fast or processed food, ones who eat closer to how man is naturally meant to eat, their poop is close to the consistency of soft serve ice cream. According to Roger Snow, Owner and Operator of Rocky Mountain Grain Products, “If you’re just starting to eat hemp and you have a body full of bread, pasta and rice sludges (To read more about Carbohydrate sludges check out Why Carbs are Bad, you can expect to have a period of time when you’re cleaning out and you’re going to be looser than you want to be, but as you change your diet and you start eating more fruits and vegetables, then you’ll probably notice that you go to the bathroom after every meal and your poops will not be solid one piece things. It will be like baby poops with smaller bits and pieces and it will be yellow in color and soft. They certainly won’t be diarrhea.”
For the chronically constipated, people report hemp hearts as an absolute God send. Roger tells of his experience with such customers, “You would be amazed at how many of those people there are. There are hundreds of thousands of people who are chronically constipated. They’ll tell me that they go for a whole week without going to the bathroom and it is the worst problem they can imagine and there’s nothing they can take that makes it better. It’s very easy to get them to use hemp hearts and they appreciate it so much. Some of them will write thank you all over their check.” For me, the benefit I notice the most from eating hemp hearts is how well my digestion and bowels work. Without hemp hearts, my poop tends to be a little on the hard side and can be pebbly. Eating the hemp hearts my poops are softer without being uncomfortable, they come out easily, and I feel good afterward. I am never constipated. I notice that when I eat the hemp hearts and have a poop, my stomach feels good.
What to Eat so that We Have Good Poops
As mentioned before, when we eat carbohydrates there isn’t much in those things to hold them together because they’re just starch, so they become kind of sludgy in us and don’t move through quite right. When you eat more fruits and vegetables, and less processed and more raw foods, the food moves through us nicely and we start to have ideal poops. Hemp hearts are the best food source for complete human nutrition because they are the only natural, well-balanced source of all required proteins, enzymes, and essential fats as well as most vitamins and minerals. So not only do hemp hearts give your body exactly what it needs nutritionally, they also are high in fiber and so they move through your body well while helping to clean out other things which may not be processed as easily.
For ideal nutrition that leaves your bowels feeling great, try hemp hearts (shelled hempseed).
